Atletico de Madrid plays to continue in Cup play in Reyno de Navarra

Just as happened in the first qualifying round, Atletico de Madrid will play for the right to continue in the King’s Cup away from Vicente Calderon Stadium. When Osasuna was winning and seemed to have qualification to the next round in hand, Fernando Torres appeared to get Atleti right back in it with a spectacular goal. It wasn’t a good match for the home team, but the fact is that they’re still alive in this competition. Javier Aguirre’s team will play life-or-death in Reyno de Navarra, a difficult stadium for any team. The last time that Atletico visited Pamplona (in December 2005) they fell 2-1 in a league match. In those days, Javier Aguirre directed the the Navarran squad and Carlos Bianchi was living his last moments as Atletico’s coach.
