Atletico de Madrid receives a visit from Abel Resino´s Levante

After facing Villarreal at El Madrigal stadium, Atletico de Madrid returns home to receive the visit of a Levante squad directed by Abel Resino, who defended the Atletico goal for many seasons. Atletico and Levante have faced each other in Madrid on five occasions, three in First and two in Second Division. Atletico has won on three of these occasions and on the other two the matches ended in draws. The Madrilian team has scored 10 goals in these encounters, while the team from Valencia has scored 2. In the first round match earlier this season, Atletico de Madrid won comfortably at Levante’s Nou Estadi by a score of 0-3. Fernando Torres opened the scoring in the first half and in the second, Maniche put in a double to finish off the victory for Javier Aguirre’s team.
