Atletico de Madrid will try for their first victory in El Madrigal

Atlético de Madrid visits El Madrigal, a stadium in which Atletico has never won, to face Villarreal. Atleti has faced Villarrreal on five occasiones (all of which were in the First Division); Villarreal has won three times and the other two remaining times the teams split the points. Last season Atletico tied 1-1 with Fernando Torres being the author of the Atleti gol with a well placed header. In the five matches, Villarreal has scored 10 goals to Atletico’s seven. In the first match up this season Atletico won 3-1 in a very exciting match. Villarreal went in front with an early goal by Fuentes, but Javier Aguirre’s team turned the game around, with a fantastic chip shot by Aguero being the highlight.
